Snitsky came in and was supposed to be this monster to take down. He was almost on the same level as a Kane - a matter of fact, his best feud came with Kane.
As a refresher, Lita was "pregnant" with Kane's baby after sleeping with him to protect Matt Hardy from the punishment that Kane was going to put him through.
After they really ended the Hardy angle, the creative team had Snitsky attack Kane from behind with a chair - of course landing on Lita and causing Lita to "lose the baby." - Real classy move by the WWE by the way.
Snitsky and Kane battled and at Cyber Sunday several years ago, Snitsky "took out" Kane by placing a chair around the neck of the Big Red Machine, leaping off the middle turnbuckle and landing on the chair, squeezing the chair into Kane's throat.
They tried to sell it by having blood spew out of Kane's mouth as he pretended to choke on the his own blood.
Kane of course came back and in a fit of retribution, back in 2005, Kane took out Snitsky ending a vicious match with a tombstone piledriver.
After that, Snitsky was a no body. He was never in any important rivalries and was often used as a PPV push - say Triple H was headed into a big PPV, he would take out Snitsky in 2 minutes.
These things ruin Snitsky, not to mention when the Kane saga was going on, he claimed it wasn't his fault Lita "lost" the baby, even putting that in his entrance music. For a few years, when ever Snitsky came out, you hear Snitsky say "It wasn't my fault."
His character quickly became a joke. More recently they took Snitsky off the air where he made a return to ECW. He came out, finally with new music, although it just sounds like a Halloween soundtrack, and would just randomly come out, interrupt matches and lay waste to the wrestlers using the big boot and pump handle slam. After that he would just leave the ring.
Why? What was the point of this? I suppose it was to try to re-build his character as a psychotic wrestler who runs wild doing whatever he wants. He was a descent fit in the land of extreme but was drafted over to Raw and his career has again become a joke.
He is not a feared wrestler. His story lines are horrible. He never uses the mic, so what is he. He is basically like another Great Khali - someone big who they can use to either push another wrestler for a PPV or in an emergency type situation can be used in a PPV just because of his size.
Problem is, he doesn't have a character. At least Khali was awarded the World Heavyweight Championship to set up Batista for the championship and slay the dragon - the seven foot, 400 pound Khali.
Snitsky is a big man, no doubt about it, but he pales in comparison to Khali. If it is that hard for the creative team to give Khali a push despite being the biggest WWE superstar, how can they give Snitsky a push?
They need to make him disappear for a little while and give him a completely new character. Change his ring attire, do something with his facial hair, give the big man a descent story line and let him use the mic - the whole bald, yellow teethed, "I've just come to the arena to beat up a few guys and then go home"thing just isn't working.
The creative team had a perfect opportunity to let him fight Jeff Hardy at the next PPV for the IC Champioship, but made it Triple H vs. Hardy instead.
Why not let Snitsky win some gold? Then let him take out some suitors for that championship and start to make a name for himself. Beating someone like Jeff Hardy right now could be a big coo for Snitsky's career, but instead he continues to be used as a second rate talent at best by the creative team.
How you can't make something work with a man his size is beyond me.
All I know is that if they continue with this stupid almost non-storyline for Snitsky, his career could be over before it really gets started.
