Mr. Kennedy could have been Misterrr Championnnn!
However an injury to Kennedy caused the WWE creative team to go down a differnt path.
Back quite a few months ago, somewhere around the time of the "Mr.McMahon's death" saga, Kennedy was going to play a storyline that appears to be going down the same path that Smackdown is going through right now.
It was on wrestlezone.com that Kennedy was going to cash in his Money in the Bank and take the title from the Undertaker just like Edge did. If you remember Edge made a challengeto Kennedy for his Money in the Bank contract on RAW. Edge hit the spear and the ref counted him down: 1 - 2 - 3 and Edge took the Money in the Bank contract and took over the Kennedy storyline.
In an ironic turn of events, Kennedy was not as seriously injured as first diagnosed and then soon after Edge was injured with a torn pec - not quite as bad as what Cena is going through right now.
Now, everything has come full circle and, the WWE creative team appears to be going full circle as well - seemingly going back to "Plan A."
According to that post on wrestlezone.com, it would have been Kennedy, but instead, now Edge is in a romantic relationship with Vickie Guerrero as GM. Kennedy was supposed to use Guerrero to either steal the title or at least get into the title picture - I don't remember which scenario it was.
Now, Edge and Vickie Guerrero are in a romantic a storyline and were both involved in screwing The Undertaker out of the title.
Guerrero already has scheduled a title match on the next Smackdown and wrestlezone.com has reported that at the next PPV, Armageddon, The Undertaker, Batista, and Edge will compete in a triple threat match for the World Heavyweight Championship.
It will be interesting to see if a new World Heavyweight Champion in Edge, either on Smackdown or at Armageddon.
