Two weeks ago Randy Orton had the chance to become just the third wrestler in WWE history, along with The Ultimate Warrior and Triple H, to hold both the World Heavyweight Championship and Intercontinental Championship at the same time.
Orton got himself intentionally disqualified with intentions to take out his rival Jeff Hardy, but got got a trip to the Emergency Room for his trouble.

At the Royal Rumble, it is not a title vs. title match, however, with Hardy already the Intercontinental Champion, if he were to defeat Orton, he would continue to etch his name in the history books of the WWE.
Orton purposely lost his shot at history, but in just three seconds Hardy could make the best of this opportunity - the same opportunity Orton had a few weeks ago.
Hardy has upstaged Orton for four consecutive weeks. First, Hardy got a pin on Orton in a tag match.
The next week, after an in ring verbal debate about who will win at the Rumble, as Orton went to deliver an RKO, Hardy reversed it into a Twist of Fate. Orton then took out Matt Hardy, Jeff's brother, kicking him in the stomach, just weeks after Matt had his appendix removed and then punting him in the head.
Orton thought he had gained the edge over Hardy but angered him instead. Two weeks ago Hardy risked life and death delivering a 30 foot Swanton Bomb from the rafters of the the RAW stage to the floor below where Orton's body lay below, surely not only with the intent to hurt Orton before their title match this Sunday, but also to gain some retribution for his brother.
This past week, The Chairman of the Board, Mr.McMahon ordered that Orton and Hardy shake hands. Hardy however would have nothing to do with it. Hardy went to Jim Ross, Jerry Lawler, Lilian Garcia, and then went into the crowd, shaking all their hands, saying he respected all of them a lot more than he did Orton.
Hardy came back into the ring, hopping over the barrier that separates the audience and looked at Orton who was seething and viciously shaking his hand and extending his hand to be shaken by Hardy. Hardy however moved his hand in to Orton, but not to shake his hand. Instead, he grabbed Orton's head, swung around and nailed a nasty Twist of Fate driving Orton's face into the canvas as RAW went of the air.
Hardy has been preaching momentum and how he has it and Orton doesn't. Now, after proving it over the past month, Hardy can win the WWE Championship and make history. He just needs three seconds of the momentum he has been talking about and RAW will see a new WWE Champion and the beginning of the "Hardy Era." An era that will start with Hardy holding the two most prestigious championships on RAW and two of the biggest championships in the entire WWE.
